Family Giving Tree 2016

As the holidays approach, we’re reminded of all we have to be thankful for—and there’s no better way to express our gratitude than by giving back to the community. This year, we focused our contributions on two of our favorite charities: the Family Tree and the Food Bank of the Rockies.

The Family Tree is a local organization that offers a wide variety of services designed to help people in our community overcome child abuse, domestic violence, and homelessness.

We were introduced to the Family Tree six years ago, and we’ve been sponsoring a ‘Giving Tree’ ever since. Each year, the Family Tree provides us with gift tags that list the recipients’ genders, ages, and desired gifts. Then, we go out and fulfill those wishes! This year, we collected 75 gifts, which will bring much needed relief to struggling families in our local community.

That’s one of the things I love about this charity—the ‘wish list’ we helped provide was thoughtfully curated by the case workers who know the individuals and their unique circumstances. Plus, it gives us an opportunity to buy a gift for a specific (though entirely anonymous) person.

We’ve also been collecting donations for the Food Bank of the Rockies (FBR). Not only does this charity help support our local community, it’s so efficient that 96 cents of each dollar it receives goes towards food distribution—and every food distribution dollar equals four meals or five pounds of food.

Thank you to our tremendous employees who provided these gifts and joy during this holiday season!

And on behalf of everyone at ASG, I’d like to extend our thanks and gratitude to our customers, partners, and friends during this holiday season. We hope you have a safe and happy holiday and a fantastic New Year!
